The Saree Affair at Cannes Film Festival 2013

The Cannes Film Festival 2013 saw India designs and silhouettes at the forefront. Our Bollywood beauties like the stunning Sonam Kapoor, talented Vidya Balan and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looked enviable in their ensembles. However, this year, we love how the actresses have flirted with India’s most stylish and versatile ethnic wear – The Saree.

Check out top three saree looks at Cannes.

Sonam Kapoor, the true fashionista of Bollywood looked so undeniably gorgeous and perfect! She wore a couture saree designed by Anamika Khanna. Her saree had accents of laces and pearls, which gave her a graceful look. Teaming with a long gold coloured embroidered cape jacket, she adds a dramatic flair by accessorizing with a kundan nose ring.

It was Vidya Balan’s first appearance to the Cannes Film Festival and she was also one of the jury members. She sported only ethnic wear and all her ensembles were designed by Sabyasachi. Among all the looks, we love her two-toned silk saree, which she accessorised with big earrings and a potli. She looked elegant and absolutely stunning.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looked nothing less than a regal Goddess. She wore a saree-lehenga designed by Sabyasachi with golden coloured embellishment, which accentuated her beautiful curves. Her eye-catching hair accessory and earrings also complemented her ensemble.
